2017 Event Highlights

Great Strides

Wow, what a walk season! This year, the Greater New York Chapter hosted nine walks throughout Long Island, New York City, and the Lower Hudson Valley. Together, these walks were attended by almost 6,000 participants and are predicted to raise almost $2.5 million! We are so grateful to all of our team leaders, team members, donors, sponsors, corporate supporters, in-kind donors, and volunteers. Without each and every one of you, these walks would not be possible.

Did you know? In 2018, we will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Great Strides and we are looking forward to making our walks bigger and better than ever before! Do you have any ideas about walk day, want to get involved with planning an event, or help with garnering new support? If so, please consider becoming a Great Strides walk committee member for your local walk! Just reach out to your local chapter office and we would be more than happy to talk to you about the roles of committee members and have you attend or call in to the next meeting!

Don’t forget! You can still fundraise through December. Please consider hosting a Passion Fundraiser or completing an end of year mailing. These are great ways to raise more funds especially if you have not reached your goal.
