The NEW Faces of the CFF Greater New York Chapter

Cindy Chan
Operations Specialist, Manhattan Office

I love to travel, preferably on a flight to anywhere. I am involved with the Foundation because I have a passion for health related nonprofits with a purposeful mission that impacts quality of life. My best memory so far was volunteering at the North Shore Golf Invitational - I had my first experience driving a golf cart around a course that was surrounded with the beauty of the Oyster Bay, a clear sunset and comfortable weather!

Development Manager, Long Island Office

My hobbies include playing music with friends and making crepes while screaming in an awful French accent.

I joined the Foundation after meeting the supporters of the Nassau Great Strides walk, where I witnessed how much of an impact this Foundation has on the lives of those touched by CF. I am immensely proud to play my part in the fight to cure CF!

Event Support Specialist, Manhattan Office

My hobbies include, trying new cuisine, mentoring youth, championing education and college access, being a fashion enthusiast, pretending to take a candid picture, reading and creative writing.

I got involved with the Foundation because I wanted to use my skillset in a positive, productive environment. You can find any job that pays well, but how many jobs actually make a difference? I am looking forward to polishing my skills while learning and growing with such an amazing team.

I’m a girl who loves her coffee, hot or iced, doesn’t matter – hence the picture! My greatest pastime these days is going for 20-30 mile bike rides. I like to refinish and repurpose furniture, I own my own sander and power drill so look out! My joy in life is my 21 year old son Dylan who has an amazing sense of humor, he keeps me laughing! Before I started working here I didn’t have a personal connection to CF, but since being here, I’ve connected with some wonderful families and I’m honored to be working on such a worthwhile cause.

I love spending time with friends and family, especially my 9 month old dog, Peyton. You can always find me at country music concerts, at the beach or scoping out the newest restaurant in town. I got involved with the Foundation 22 years ago, when my brother Alex was diagnosed in 1995. Furthermore, I am most excited about making a difference anyway I can in the CF community.
