Spring is in the air ...
... and that means Great Strides season is here!

The Greater New York Chapter is proud to host Great Strides 2013 at ten locations throughout our metro area during May and June.

Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s signature event and its largest public awareness and fundraising campaign.  In 2012, we raised $40 million nationwide, with $3.2 million raised in Greater New York – all committed to scientific research for new drug therapies and, ultimately, a cure!

2012 was a breakthrough year in CF research, and together we must keep the momentum going!  We’re aiming high in 2013!  Our goal in Greater New York is to raise $3.5 million!  Many of you have heard it said, “Money buys science and science buys lives.”

If you haven’t already, please start a team, register, donate at www.cff.org/greatstrides.  If you’re already registered, now is the time to build your teams and fundraise!   You can use your Great Strides website to send e-mails to your contacts to join your team and make donations.

Great Strides is for families, friends, co-workers and neighbors.  We’ve planned mornings of entertainment, food, exercise, Kids’ Korners, camaraderie and much more.  Registration is free but we ask everyone to fundraise.  Each Walker that raises $100+ will receive the official Great Strides 2013 t-shirt.  Raise $500+ and you will receive a shout out at the Walk as a 2013 Super Strider and receive a gift.  Walker Prizes will be available to all those who raise $250 and more!

We wish to thank you in advance for supporting Great Strides!

We also wish to thank our Greater New York Great Strides 2013 Sponsors to date.

The success of our Walks depends on volunteers -- fundraising volunteers to raise money for research, but also volunteers who help on Walk Day.  Please contact Suzette Aviles, Volunteer Director, at saviles@cff.org or 212-986-8783 if you are able to volunteer at any of our 10 Walks or if you know of any civic, school or corporate volunteer groups.
