Welcome to our 2nd issue of CFForward!

Our hope is that you, our supporters, find the variety of featured articles informative and interesting.

As we move forward into spring and summer, we are excited to be hosting many events that will help us bring us closer to funding new scientific research waiting to be discovered.

Great Strides, our Chapter’s largest fundraiser, is happening during May and June at 10 locations throughout New York City, Long Island, Westchester and the lower Hudson Valley region.  Join us by starting a team at www.cff.org/greatstrides.

Calling all baseball fans and CFF supporters!  We hope you’ll come out to Citi Field on Wednesday, July 24th for our 2nd Annual “Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Night with the NY Mets,” as they take on the Atlanta Braves.  At our inaugural game, more than 700 people came out in support of CF Awareness. This year we hope to have over 1,000 CF supporters!  Purchase your tickets at online at www.mets.com/cysticfibrosis.  For those who have CF or are purchasing tickets for a family member or friend with CF, please order your tickets by calling our Mets representative, Gary Garcia, at 718-559-3131.

Social media has become an all-important means of increasing public awareness of the CF Foundation, the Greater New York Chapter, our vital research programs, our advocacy efforts, and the various ways people can become involved.   We have learned that the most meaningful messages that are shared on Facebook and Twitter are personal stories.  So we are reaching out to you, inviting you to share your personal stories as to “Why I Walk” or “What the CF Foundation Means to Me.”   We are certain that the social media community will embrace your stories, help us to increase our fans on Facebook and followers on Twitter, and spread our mission of finding a cure for CF.

Please contact me at ssugarman@cff.org if you are interested in submitting your story, or have general comments or ideas for our e-Newsletter.

Happy Spring!
