The 25th Annual Wall Street Charity Golf Classic was held on July 9th at the prestigious Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY. The event, hosted by Tom Hughes, along with Co-Chairmen Timothy H. Grell, John Griff, Alfred F. Kelly, Jr. and Linda K. Russo, has become the preeminent charity golf tournament in the region, as well as the primary golf event for the Greater New York Chapter. This year, WSCGC supporters raised more than $800,000, bringing total contributions to the CF Foundation over the past 25 years to $21 million!  These dollars have been raised through the generosity of donors and corporate sponsors.

The tournament was inspired by two of Tom and Ginny Hughes’ daughters, Mallory and Catherine, both of whom have cystic fibrosis and are living healthy, happy lives thanks to the treatments that have been developed from the Foundation’s drug pipeline.

160 golfers participated in the tournament, which was played on the Club’s East and West Courses.  Golfers also had the opportunity to enter a Shoot-out Competition at designated holes, as well as bid on a vast number of trips and vacation packages, which were generously donated to the silent and live auctions by GNYC Board Member, John McMahon of Questex.

After an ideal day of golfing, guests enjoyed a cocktail and dinner reception, followed by engaging speeches from Rich Mattingly, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the CF Foundation, and Joe O’Donnell, Milestones to a Cure Campaign Chair. Joe then had the honor of introducing Doris Tulcin, founder of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Classic’s Honorary Award Recipient.

Honorary Chairman Boomer Esiason, retired NFL quarterback, current radio commentator and founder of The Boomer Esiason Foundation, then hosted “Bid for a Cure,” along with Catherine Hughes, who told her personal story about living with cystic fibrosis and inspired attendees to donate generously.  The evening came to a close with the live auction and golfer award ceremony.

We thank everyone who was involved in making the 25th Annual Wall Street Charity Golf Classic a huge success.
