Corporate Corner

If you build it they will come…

In 2016, we made a concerted effort to increase corporate support and boy did it pay off! We saw an amazing 38% year over year growth in corporate sponsorship for the Greater New York Chapter’s annual events. Our Great Strides program enjoyed a 29% increase from prior year. These results were truly a collaborative effort and could not have been possible without the support of our CF families, team leaders, and volunteers.

Greater NY Chapter Launches Industry Based Campaigns:

This past year we were thrilled to launch three new industry campaigns Banking on a Cure, Construct the Cure, and Insure the Cure at our Chapter’s ten Great Strides walks.

Collectively we welcomed eight new corporate supporters and included numerous existing supporters who expressed interest in being a part of a unifying effort. These initiatives allowed the industry as a whole to be spotlighted, as well as the individual companies. Through these three campaigns, we raised over $160,000.

We believe there is tremendous growth potential for these industry alliances. In 2017, we look to engage additional companies, increase the value and benefits for our corporate supporters, and form executive leadership committees.

Did you know?
The Greater New York Chapter has a Corporate Engagement Taskforce Committee which is comprised of corporate leaders from various industries. This group is instrumental in leading the strategic development and execution of opportunities and initiatives for companies as well as fostering introductions to new corporate prospects.

We are always looking for individuals seeking philanthropic leadership opportunities and who want to lend their expertise in support of the Foundation’s efforts. Please contact Lori Peterzell to learn more about the committee and how to become a member.

Ways you can help and get your company involved:

  • Sponsor an event
  • Form a Company Team
  • Jeans Day and Lace-up Day for CF
  • Host a Lunch & Learn at your office
  • Ask if you can utilize internal communication channels to message upcoming chapter event(s)
  • Encourage your colleagues to sign-up as event volunteers
  • Donate products and experiences for silent auctions
  • Donate pro-bono media

Jeans Day and Lace-up Day for CF:
Did you know that companies with strict dress policies often let employees wear jeans or sneakers to the office in support of a charity? Typically employees are asked to donate $5 to the selected cause making this effort an accessible and affordable way for everyone to get involved and feel charitable!

We make these efforts very turnkey with customizable materials and communications to help you bring a company onboard. In 2016, two companies held these fundraising events and collectively raised an impressive $1,600… just five dollars at a time!

If you’re interested in learning more about our Great Strides campaigns or how you can involve a company through a jeans or lace-up day, please contact Lori Peterzell at lpeterzell@cff.org.

Thanks for the awareness!

In 2016, we were fortunate to have a number of local and national media companies provide valuable pro-bono media. Thank you!
